A priest in Moldova has been accused of accidentally drowning a 6-week-old baby during the boy's baptism, according to London's Daily Mail.

The baby's relatives said he died Friday after the priest, who is referred to only as Father Valentin, did not cover the tot's mouth and nose when he immersed the child in water three times.

The Republic of Moldova (Republica Moldova) is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, located between Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east and south.

I sympathise with what you saying goguard, and I agree the child molestation is a pathetic situation, however this incident was apparently a tragic accident borne out of stupidity.

As for the church still being "in existence", keep in mind that the Roman Catholic Church is the oldest continuous institution in the Western world, and with over a Billion members, has played a prominent role in the world since the 3rd century.
