This a classic example of how the police are out of control all over this country.

Four plaintiffs joined together in one federal civil suit, involving 3 separate cases against the city of Burkburnett and seven members of the Burkburnett Police Department in their individual capacities, according to a complaint filed Sept. 2nd in Wichita Falls

The suit refers to widespread practices and policies or customs involving arrests and charges for people in "passive non-compliance" and "use of excessive force against individuals who are not in immediate compliance with verbal commands of Burkburnett police officers."

You'll want to read about these cases.

All charges brought against these plaintiffs, or victims, which is what they actually are, were eventually dropped.

After reading dozens of stories like this, I have arrived at 2 conclusion, one is that this type of conduct in a Police Department is contagious. Once one officer uses bully tactics during an arrest, other officers allow their tendency to bully to show, and before long the whole Department, or unit within a department, are acting like animals.

Which brings me to my other conclusion. The reason there are so many cops that utilize bully tactics against the public, is because the screening process used to hire police officers is seriously flawed. There is no reason why police departments cannot use the sophisticated physiological evaluation processes available to them in the year 2010.

IMO, a sophisticated and effective screening process should be established by the U.S. Congress, standardizing police application screening requirements nationwide, thereby improving the quality and conduct of police officers across the country.

It's Tue. March 28 2011, and was in Burk today. Nothing has changed. The police if thats what you call them, have now switched to harrassing teenagers. Hah, spineless cowards. Now all this is in the open I wish they would pull this crap on me and not my kids or thier freinds. Jail or no jail they are more than welcome to talk with me. However I dont think it will be a freindly discussion. You are supposed to be grown men, police officers, not terrorists hahaha.
