CNN is advising employees on how to respond to conservative criticism of Candy Crowley, citing Mitt Romney's performance at the debate as the real reason for their furor.

TMZ reported exclusively on an email sent by managing editor Mark Whitaker on Wednesday. "The reviews on Candy's performance have been overwhelmingly positive but Romney supporters are going after her on two points, no doubt because their man did not have as good a night as he had in Denver," he wrote.
Conservatives were not happy with Crowley, especially after she fact-checked Romney on Libya. Romney surrogates and conservative personalities like Rush Limbaugh cried bias, alleging that she tipped the scale in favor of President Obama.
